Instructors and students can easily keep in touch using WebAssign’s convenient communication tools.
Private Messages
Through WebAssign, you can quickly email a single student, a group of students, or the entire class, and students can email you too. If private messaging is enabled, all messages are sent and received within WebAssign, but both you and your students can choose to get a personal email alert each time a new message is received
Ask Your Teacher
This powerful feature lets a student contact you with questions about a specific assignment or problem. You can then view the exact version of the student’s assigned problem, including a complete record of their responses and the correct answer, to easily assess the problem and provide appropriate guidance.
Extension Requests
Students can apply for assignment due date extensions using buttons at the top and bottom of each assignment. After receiving their message, you can grant or deny extensions to one student or the whole class with a simple click. To save time, you can set up automatic extensions and specify the duration of the extension, the number of auto-extensions allowed, and any grading penalty desired.
Announcements
You can post alerts and announcements that your students see on their WebAssign home page such as a course description, links to the syllabus, or notification of a cancelled class. Announcements can be distributed to multiple class sections at once, and you can specify the dates for both posting and removing the message.
Forums
When enabled, forums let you and your students post messages about classroom topics that you define. Forum messages can be viewed by the entire class, and provide a way to stimulate class participation and discussion outside of the classroom.
